Abstract
Industrial companies operate in a highly competitive environment, which requires the adoption of methodologies that generate strategic advantages. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to recognize the impact of the 5S Methodology as a Lean Manufacturing tool on work organization and occupational safety in industrial processes. It focuses on studies published within the last five years, with the purpose of identifying benefits, limitations, and trends in its application. A total of 50 articles were selected, highlighting how the implementation of this tool contributes to organization, standardization, efficiency, and organizational discipline. The results provide evidence of improvements following the implementation of 5S, leading to more efficient and safer work environments, despite barriers and limitations such as employee resistance to change and insufficient managerial commitment. The conclusions emphasize that the 5S methodology transcends continuous improvement, establishing itself as a strategic resource that drives organizational efficiency and sustainability. Its application optimizes workspace, reduces losses, and fosters a culture of discipline and responsibility that strengthens productivity and safety. However, the difficulty of adaptation remains one of the main challenges for its long-term consolidation in industrial settings.
