Abstract
This article presents the design results of a four element array of dielectric resonator antennas (DRA). The antenna geometry includes a conformal open-loop feed for each of the four elements. The four antenna elements, independently fed, aim to provide diversity in radiation patterns through the use of phase shifters at their ports. Electromagnetic simulation results show that the antenna has a bandwidth of 464 MHz (3.37 - 3.81 GHz), which is suitable for fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication applications. The isolation between the antenna ports is greater than 10 dB across the entire operating bandwidth. Antipodal radiation patterns across the entire band exhibit directional changes when phase shifts of 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 270 degrees, and 360 degrees are interleaved.
